Technical assistance to the Ministry of Health of Cameroon for the expansion and renovation of the network of regional hospitals and university hospitals.

Technical support for the refurbishment of the hospital network across different cities in Cameroon

Avicena has worked with Cameroon’s Ministry of Health to define the levels of care, hospital services and technological standards of eleven hospitals distributed across different areas of the country.

Based on an analysis of demographic and epidemiological factors, as well as the health needs and existing health services, we contributed to the design of three new university hospitals and the refurbishment of eight regional hospitals.

The project covers a total surface area of 108,533 square metres and 782 hospital beds. The work also included organising the structure of the hospital services, both medical and non-medical, and establishing the specifications of technical installations such as the electrical system, medical gases, waste management, IT and security technologies.
