Planning and development of the ‘City of Health’ and the University Hospital Centre in Benguerir (Morocco)

Keys to the project
Avicena has advised in the design of a multidisciplinary university hospital centre in the ‘Green City’ of Benguerir and the province of Rhamna, which will offer medical and hospital care of the highest standard, with the aim of positioning itself as a benchmark for healthcare in the country.
The centre is built on 12 hectares of land and includes a university hospital with 300 beds, equipped with cutting-edge technology for care, training and research; a rehabilitation centre with 120 beds; a geriatric centre with 80 beds; and a simulation centre which will be used for health training.
Avicena provided support in defining the vision and the strategic plan for the project, adapting to the hospital context of Morocco and establishing public-private collaborations in the health sector.
In addition to this, a medical programme was defined, economic feasibility studies were carried out, and functional and technical programmes were created, including the biomedical equipment plan for the new university hospital. Avicena also advised in reviewing the proposals submitted to the international architectural and technical tender, ensuring that the functional and technical programmes were in line with the criteria required.
